Our employees can choose a career development path in positions connected directly with the construcion process. Employees without technical education can expand their skills in such departmets as financial, logistics, bidding, HR and administration.

Depending on personal predispositions the employees can either become experts or take managerial positions. The first path offers the development from junior specialist to expert, without responsibility for personell. The other path allows to take over more and more responsible managerial tasks.

Training and development

Employee's development is strictly connected with HOCHTIEF's business strategy. During annual performance interview managers discuss with employees their competence levels and areas for further development. Training plans and programmes designed especially to suit our employees' needs are organized on this basis.

Our employees are given the possibility to develop their skills through professional training in soft skills (effective communication, team management, management talk), as well as specialist training related to implementing a construction project (project management, MS Project, AutoCad, FIDIC).

Special attention is given to people displaying outstanding development potential who receive dedicated training programmes.

As our activities are conducted in an international environment and we realize global projects, foreign language acquisition receives special support. Our engineers may be granted financial support to complete building licence courses.

The training project “Development of the engineering staff and employees of support groups of HOCHTIEF Polska" co-financed by the EU Social Fund was implemented as part of the company's HR policy. The main outcomes of the project included: skills development of training participants, and, in relation, improved effectiveness of performed tasks while implementing building projects and promotion of the idea of continuous education among engineering staff.
