The expansion of the Silo Building for Wedel, whose general contractor was HOCHTIEF Polska, has come to an end. The end of the project makes us doubly happy, because it gives rise to a new attraction on the map of the capital – the interactive Chocolate Museum!
The 8,000 square metres of exhibition space offer plenty of space for an interactive insight into chocolate production, while the spectacular façade with a chocolate bar structure gives you a taste of what’s inside from the outside. This makes the museum not only the largest facility of this type in Poland, but also the world’s largest chocolate bar!
HOCHTIEF Polska contract also included the demolition of the old workshop building and the reconstruction of the walls on the factory premises. The renovated facility has 9 floors above ground and one underground, and its total area is approx. 11.5 thousand sqm. It was connected to the existing company building through connectors on the middle floors. The reconstruction project was implemented in accordance with the requirements of the conservator of monuments and is the largest investment in the history of Wedel.
In addition to the aforementioned Museum, the facility will also include a new factory part, a research and development laboratory, interactive exhibitions and a Chocolate Lounge.
An additional attraction in the facility will be a public terrace with a view of the Kamionkowskie Lake and the panorama of Warsaw.
The opening of the facility for visitors is planned for September 4.
