First milestone achieved after six months of work
The construction of the second stage of the Business Garden at Żwirki i Wigury Street has reached the “zero” level. The construction work was commenced in December last year and after only six months the project “raised above the ground”. This is the first milestone in the implementation of this investment. The project completion is forecast for the beginning of 2017.
‘The last element of the underground storey was a fragment of the ceiling above the garage in the building 3. In accordance with the construction schedule, we completely closed level 0, but it should be mentioned that due to the cascade nature of the work, at the remaining four buildings, the elements of floor +1, and at the most advanced location – even +2, are already being assembled. The installation of aboveground structure, made of prefabricated elements, will be executed within the next few months,’ as Wojciech Kłopocki, a Project Manager from the Vastint company, which is the developer of the project, explains.
As part of the second phase of the Business Garden project, five office buildings along with support services in the total lease area of about 56 000 square meters will be erected. The buildings are being carried out using modern design and technical solutions, in accordance with the guidelines of certification by LEED Platinum standards. A distinctive feature of the investment are the surrounding green areas. Sixty percent of the plot will be occupied by the elements of landscape architecture, among others green roofs, green squares with characteristic high grasses, trees and water tanks.
‘Completion of the state 0 of the second stage of the Business Garden involved execution of about 11 000 square meters of tight walls of a depth of 14 m and 180 000 cubic metres of the excavation. The underground structure required supply and building into of 37 000 cubic metres of concrete as well as 6 000 tonnes of reinforcing steel. The works were executed using 10 tower cranes. We have already started the first finishing works in the basements of the buildings, and in the next few days, the first installation works are planned’ Marek Piotrowski, the Project Manager in HOCHTIEF Polska Branch in Warsaw, summed up.
